The Instructor Development Course PADI Program, more often called IDC, is the heart of the process of formation of the Instructors. During this course, you will learn and apply the theoretical knowledge by learning how to use the PADI system.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE TO THE IDC PADI FORMATION?

The IDC permits to pass for the status of Divemaster (or equivalent) to PADI Instructor. It brings opportunities to learn new things, to change your career and discover the world!! With this certification, you will give courses to form new divers, so be ready for this challenge!!

WHAT ARE THE PREROGATIVES OF THE PADI INSTRUCTOR (ALSO CALLED OWSI)?

The Open Water Scuba Instructors who can teach are authorized to give these courses:

  •         Adventure Diver/Advanced Open Water Diver
  •         Rescue Diver
  •         Divemaster
  •         Skin Diver et Discover Snorkeling

WHAT IN THE CONTAIN OF THIS FORMATION?

The IDC formation is composed of 2 parts:

  The Assistant Instructor (AI)

  The Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program.

Most of the professional divers do a complete IDC and take the Instructor exam to acquire the PADI certification.

 

On the Assistant Instructor part, you will talk about:

  •         Orientation
  •         Learning and teaching the PADI System
  •         Development of theoretical presentations
  •         Teach the AWARE project
  •         PADI program to introduction to scuba diving
  •         Teaching in protected areas  

On the second part, the OWSI, you will study:

  •         Diving industry
  •         General standards and proceeds
  •         Managing the risks and legal responsibilities
  •         Media status and teaching
  •         How to teach TPL PADI
  •         Adapted teaching
  •         PADI Philosophy in a continuous teaching
  •         Commercial principles for the Instructor

HOW THE SEPTEMBER FORMATION IS ORGANIZED:

In September, the IDC STAFF session will be organized from the 30/08 to the 11/09. The first part (AI) takes part from the 1st September to the 4th. The second part (OWSI) takes part from the 5th September to the 11th September. Finally, the Instructor Exam is organized of the 12 and 13 September.

Equipment

As a professional of diving, you will need your own diving equipment, as a dive computer, a diving knife and at least 2 system of signalization surface…

WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES TO BEGIN THE FORMATION?

The PADI Divemaster that is at least aged of 18 can participate to the PADI IDC. They also need to:

  •         Register 60 dive (includes night dive, deep dive and orientation).
  •         Be a certificate diver since at least 6 months.
  •         Followed the Emergency First Response in the last 24 months.
  •         If the candidate isn’t PADI Divemaster, complete the Rescue technics evaluation of the PADI Divemaster course.
  •         Furnish the documents that certificate your aptitude to the technics of rescue, improvement and supervision
  •         Important: Medical certificate that allows you to practice scuba diving.

WHAT IS THE “IE” FINAL EXAM?

The success of the IDC program permits to the candidates to subscribe to the exam named: Instructor Examination. This exam is totally organized by PADI (and directly payable to them. Only the success of the IE will permit you to obtain the OWSI certification.

On 2 days:

The evaluation will aboard:

  •         Standard of theory
  •         A presentation in a protected area
  •         5 exercise to demonstrate
  •         A presentation in a classroom
  •         A presentation in a natural and protected area (2 exercises)
  •         Rescue demonstration 

To show at the exam you will need:

  •         To register 100 dives
  •         To success at the OWSI Program in the last 12 months.
  •         Having the Emergency First Response Instructor

The price includes:

  •         IDC formation: 1390€

  •         « Cross over » Formation IDC for MF1/DEJEP on 12 days: 1190€

The price doesn’t include:

WHO IS MARCO DI TOMASSO, YOUR COURSE DIRECTOR?

 

 

Passionate by education since 25 years, Marco taught scuba diving and first aid in various European countries and in Egypt.

Trained psychotherapist, Marco is persuaded that scuba diving has a positive effect on personal development.
